Hi, on my new to me 1966 Deuce, there is a distinct ticking noise coming from the turbo area left side of the engine. The noise does not sound different if i remove the oil fill cap meaning i dont thing it is from the valve train, or at least on that three cylinders. It sounds like it could be an exhaust leak but i dont see smoke coming out of a gasket. I filmed this video using a flashlight since it is easier to try to see smoke with a flashlight. The video shows the engine at idle and then i put the camera down so i can idle it up some and then video it like that.

If anyone has any suggestions on where to start at on this sound, please advise. It is NOT the compressor. I hope the link works. if not, and you have time please just cut and paste to watch it.

Yes. One way to check for an exhaust leak is to burn atf or motor oil with the fuel to get some.smoke. smoke tends to come out at the leak

It does sound like a exhaust leak to me also.
However check the inner fender panel on that side.

I had one that would occasionally vibrate just enough to make all kinds of
Tick's and noise's.
Drove me crazy looking for a noise one time.
