Engine Oil Level High - Fuel Dilution ? HELP!

Referencing "Engine Oil Rising M35A2", New Thread Post.

My truck does not have a "Fuel Density Compensator" or a "Flame Heater" appearently. The engine oil is very high on the dip stick, around the "S" in the word "stopping" on the dip stick. The oil was changed in April 09 and filled to approximately the "K" in the word check on the dip stick and has since risen, after about 29 hours on the meter. It is not a coolant leak.
Were might fuel be getting into the engine oil?

HELP! ......

Are you sure you truck has no FDC? I'm no expert, but I though pretty much all of the multi's had the fuel density compensator.

That would be my place to start...take a picture of the area around the injector pump and post it, if it's got the compensator, someone will definitely let you know. If the FDC is there, I would set about making sure whether it is bypassed or not.

The Army was kind enough to place a tag on mine stating that it was internally bypassed.

Here is a diagram that when compared visually to what is on my truck, matches exactly.
The other posts with illustrations for bypassing the FDC does not look like this.
This is all I can go by.

The only place where diesel fuel and lube oil are on opposite sides of a seal is the density compensator. Replace/repair injector pump, densioty compensator, or by-pass.
An injector will put fule in the base, but will also smoke.
Good lukck, as I had the same problem.

It sounds to me that it hasnt been by-passed afterall. IIRC, Cranetruck had a step by step with illustrations on by-passing the FDC. If I knew how I'd link it to this thread

Check the seal on the fuel supply pump on the side of the injection pump.
It could leak there because that pump is a gear pump that is driven off the shaft that has the cam on it for the injection pump. I don't know if the engine will run eithout this pump. If you are going to bypass the pump you must remove the gears otherwise they will be damaged from running dry. I think I read that Gimpyrob said he had a truck that had this pump bypassed. Otherwise it could be leaking from the IP head. I read somewhere that there is an oil passage to the IP head and some of the replacement IP heads did not require it and thet had to be blocked off.

Also, I found this AB manual on a website. It has the pump used on the LD engine. On page 70 there is a troubleshooting section. It lests fuel dilution as o-rings on Injection pump, or the seal on the transfer pump. Check it out............
OOOPS!!!!
Sorry but file is too big to post. If a moderator or administrator could post it contact me and I'll send it to them.
Also have a service manual for these IP's that I found online.....if someone wants this then let me know....its kind of ratty because it is a scanned used manual but it is better than nothing......its amazing what you can find on the web when you're bored at work!!!!:p

I don't know first hand, but aimlessly reading through these forums I have seen injection pumps without compensators mentioned and photographed on this site before. I don't think I ever learned how or why they were installed, if it was an "elimination kit" or just no longer needed since the military is trying so hard to be a single fueled fleet. There has also been a general consensus that there is another leak path to get fuel into the oil, relating to the o-rings under the hydraulic head of the injection pump. Search for "hydraulic head" and "O rings", I bet that'll get you somewhere...
