Engine oil pan leak M35A2

Question: is it possible to pull the engine oil pan without completely pulling the engine? Was thinking of removing front mounts, jack shaft, transmission cover. Your thoughts? Thanks

Sure, but you will need to lift the engine between 8 and 10 inches off the frame first. Or, remove the front axle, whichever is faster!

Thanks , thats what I didn’t want to hear. **** firewall is to close to rear lift ring. And no sir I wasn’t messing with you. Be a one man show when removing a Duce engine ain’t no fun.

Lifting the front end on the frame and letting the axle hang might give you enough clearance to get the pan out. Safe working practices recommended.

TM9-2320-361-34 sec 3-11 page 3-34.. jacking up one side will give you more clearance to remove the pan. simple job.

BTW...its in the technical manual section on the website if you do not have the manuals. Also, If you use the search section and type in "oil pan gasket replacement", you'll have to sort through a couple hundred threads before finding one or two that actually pertain to the oil pan. Not good if your using a I phone.

I replaced a pan and did not move the motor. The last deuce I bought from GL had a forklift hole in the pan.
