extra fuel tank outlet?

My 85 1009 has an extra fuel outlet line,right rear,with a valve on it,Topgun217 told me soldiers used to gravity feed fuel to heaters for there tents from the fuel tank,

You can draw off of it but not gravity feed. You could probably get a siphon going too it you worked at it. Pretty sure it was used to fire the fuel fired engine heaters in the arctic kits. Makes a great emergency line to draw fuel if your other line develops a leak.

the arctic fuel kits tap off the fuel line up behind the pass side front tire there is a tee in the line for it there. On our trucks I was told that the line you talk about is to drain the tank if you should ever need to change it out,
