Extremely heavy throttle pedal on 1996 A0 1078 - A1 electronic pedal swappable?

I'm already missing the electronic gas pedal on my previous Mitsubishi Fuso. I read that apparently the A1 trucks did have an electronic throttle but I have found zero results when looking for the actual parts online considering swapping them. I also looked for the same thing but from the perspective of the cat 3116 engine itself but to no available. Anyone on here done or considered such a swap?

Get stronger:)

No electronics on an A0, so NO swapping ... All mechanical diesel. Pedal pulls a rod, rod pulls a lever, other end of lever pulls a throttle cable. Cable down to top of engine pulls a governor speed control block between the low speed stop and high speed stop screws. There are two springs down there that pull everything back to the low speed stop when the pedal is released.

SO just heavy and not stiff(returns smartly when you let off the pedal)?

If just heavy, first question is: Are the two springs down on the governor(one inside the other) the correct ones?

Did someone perhaps modify it to add more spring, like say at the pedal?

If it is stiff, check lube of cable and rocker/lever in the dash(in behind hand throttle).

Just shot a pic in there last week that shows the top end of the throttle system, when I was putting in my exhaust brake throttle switch.

AH so you're saying there's a lubrication... anything.. behind the dash panel near the hand throttle? Wish i could get in there right now but no fancy workshop with interior lighting so i can monkey around with trucks indoors at night lol. Will definitely check it out in the light of day tomorrow thanks.
Can you tell me what sort of lubricant it requires so i can get a head start on ordering some to have onhand, even if it doesn't need it now?

You pretty much gotta pull the steering wheel to lift out the dash, and even then it is not that easy:)

If it returns cleanly from full pedal to idle pedal, it is probably not a lube issue. someone may have swapped out springs down at the governor...

Sadly what you are now beginning to realize is that you actually wanted an A1R truck (2004+) with a 370 HP Cat C7 and electronic throttle, cruise control, and all the other nice-to-haves.

Best thing to do - find someone that wants what you have and then find an A1R. Trust me - it's the dream truck you never knew you wanted till you experienced the A0.

For lube - aerosol lithium grease is what you want. Works great for linkages, doors latches, pedal pivots, etc and doesn't vanish as easily as other sprays.
