On a recent trip to look over a military vehicle armor collection, I stumbled across this little Beauty tucked over beside the building..
It was a prototype and we believe only 2 were ever built!
It was built by Continental motors
And has a BMW m21 diesel. Dodge k-car transaxle turned sideways, and BMW differentials front and rear to make it 4x4. It's kinda rough, but really cool!

Nice score! Almost looks like a GMV prototype vs. a FAV. I'm guessing it has some sort of adjustable suspension? Look forward to some details and better pictures! ;)

Very interesting, can you post a pic of the main data plate and the BMW engine?
I have been unable to locate a data tag, both of the FAV's were acquired by a museum directly from Continental motors a few years ago, they used this one for parts to rebuild the other one that is currently on display..
Continental motors said that they were turned over to the military for testing, and they were returned back to them, and chenowth got the contract for the FAV.

I will get some pics of the engine soon.. It hasn't run in years, I was told that the museum "started it on a funnel" once, but other then that it was last actually run in the late 80's

Nice little rig.

Not to get off topic but I presume this came from Ropkey? There has been a lot of talk about the collection be separated out (M4 sold to Collings, M7B2 and Hellcat for sale, M41 was for sale), did they say anything about that?

Yes it did come from ropkey's. They are selling off some things so as to downsize, and so they can move the museum back to Indy.. They stressed that they would NOT be closing down, just raising funds for the move and downsizing

That is a awesome little rig. Would make a great off road, daily driver, whatever you wanted. Congrats on the score
Thanks! I'm not sure about a daily driver, but I will drive it on the road.. It's hard to figure out what the parts are.. I mean, the ball joints for example- they are off of a civilian vehicles, but I have no clue what! Same with the steering rack.. (The rack is damaged, and needs to be replaced) but that is the joys of a prototype! It will be a very long road, but it will be worth it! My goal is for it to be completely done in time for the 2018 MVPA convention that the KILROY club (that I am Vice President of) will be hosting in Louisville, KY again! (I'm kind of excited if you can't tell) lol
