Need some help from some of you that are Active Army. I am trying to piece together the Blue Force Tracker (BFT) FBCB2 computer system for the FMTV. I was thinking I had the right components, but things are not bolting together. Pic 1 is the FMTV radio rack I have. Pic 2 is the mount for the AN/UYK-128 computer. Pic 3 shows how the mount bolt pattern is close but does not line up on the outer bolt rows, why is this? This is on the 3rd shelf from the top. The second shelf has holes as well (pic 4) but I have no idea what for? Lastly, facing the operator is the bracket for the DAGR. To the right of that is a mounting location for what I thought was the 671 speaker. Nope. Does the DAGR/MT-2011 power switch go there?

Thanks in advance guys. I cannot find any of the manuals online for this late equipment.

The monitor and keyboard should go in front of the the TC seat, passenger. Depending on what version you are trying to piece together depends on the EPLRS radio. Since you are using a dagr I would imagine you are trying to build a more modern one. Do you actually have computer, monitor, keyboard system? If so I'll be more than happy to travel to you to make you an image so you can play some stuff on it. You're only 5 hours away, lol

I'm not 100%, and I'm on leave for the next week so I won't be able to find a truck to confirm, BUT... I would say the power system could go next to the DAGR. Monitor and keyboard should be routed to the TC. I see what you're saying regarding the bolt holes... no idea other than to try other directions and shelves. All the pieces "look" right. If someone hasn't found an unclass/Public Distro TM by the time I get back, I will check that too.

Thanks for everyones input so far. Nope I don't have the cpu, monitor or keyboard for the FBCB2 system yet, but I am on the hunt. This very modern equipment is very challenging to put together, but that is what I love about this hobby. Kind of like sourcing a surf shield for a WWII GPA.

Well if you do happen to come up with one let me know, I'll build you a custom linux distro that looks like the actual fbcb2, with solitaire and minesweeper, lol

There's been a couple of AN/UYK-128s on Ebay recently. One guy apparently had a few - CPU and older model display only - but wanted $2899 obo. I believe the last one was unsold so may be relisted. Another guy has the later model display only (same one I have), and he was around $1300. I believe that one is still up too.

Takes a bit of searching but Austin Aviation has all the cables required to put the system together if you find yourself a CPU and Display. Manual is also readily available via a quick web search, and many of the installation manuals for specific vehicles are available still in the ETMs on LOGSA.

Seems weird they've let this guy have his sales for about 3 mos. now when about 14 mos. ago they cancelled an auction I won of one of the things and made the vendor return it to Uncle.

I think the FMTVs use the really long CPU --> Display cable, which American Milspec had and may still have for around $85. I've never seen one of those in Austin's stuff, as most of his seems removed from HMMWVs. As others have said - you'll have to decide which version you want to go with, but if you go with the FBCB2-BFT rather than the FBCB2-EPLRS, there are currently BFT antenna/sat transceivers on Ebay from..."Indiana_jones_warehouse"...I believe is the vendor. Again, you'll find that Austin has the cables you need if you spend some time working out what you need via the installation manuals.

I have everything to make the FBCB2-EPLRS setup in a HMMWV except for the CPU itself now (including a demilled EPLRS ;) - and have spent three years looking for a CPU priced this side of Insanity. I thought of kitbashing another style CPU to drive the correct AN/UYK-128 monitor but...not going to happen...as all the connections etc. are proprietary to DRS Technologies and there's no documentation out there anywhere with respect to pinouts and so forth.

Austin also regularly has the SIAD - http://radiosets.tpub.com/TB-9-2320-387-35-1/TB-9-2320-387-35-10043.htm - for a good price if you need it for your installation.

(usual caveats...nobody's paying me commission :)

You've got three of the AN/UYK-128 display mounts there (one with the RAM mount for the HMMWV installation) and in the foreground two of the CPU mounts for the system. Not sure what the rearmost thing is. EPLRS transceiver bracket is sort of rectangular with no nylon runners. Austin Aviation (Ebay: beltfed34) has them regularly. He also usually has the EPLRS keypad/ KDU bracket.
