Does anyone have one of these cooling pans for the TH400,
and if so, what filter are you using with it?

Thanks!

I have one and the stock filter is what I am running. I dont have a part # for ya, but if you are buying it to use the spot on the side of the pan for a temp sending unit, which is what I wanted it for you wont be able to. The spot is right next to the front driveshaft.

Thanks guys!, Since the stock filter works, I am assuming that the
extension is not a seperate piece, but just by virtue of the tubes
built into the bottom, right?

I got mine from a fellow SS er, and the instalation manual was missing. Did you use the gasket dry, or did you use some kind of
gasket sealer on one side?

I am using the stock filter. With no extension. I just keep it at the proper level on the dipstick. It has worked great for 4 years now. The extension is a tube the goes between the filter and the intake hole in the valve body.

Is that a dry well or just a boss to screw in the sensor?

Its just a bung with a plug in it that you can screw in a temp sending unit. I bought mine for that reason and it sits about 3/8 of an in from the front driveshaft. Had to end up using the test port on the drivers side for my sending unit location.

There is a small threaded reinforced hole on the side of the pan
which I am assuming is for the sensor. comes with a small threaded plug for it.

OOPS, didn't type fast enough.
Did you use gasket sealer on the large gasket or just smear with oil?
