Well have her home and the work starts.

Really no problem so far other than some light rust. Still has the date CARC 1997 paint, as I don't see any updated CARC dates.

Changed the battery back from 2 battery system to the 4 battery system. Found out if I used the 12v lighting it killed the batteries, which I also lost power to the transmission. Used the Mustang to charge the batteries along the way, and didn't use lights along the way during the day.

I drove my Mustang to go pick it up and loaded it into the back of the M 1083 for the trip back. I did have some odd looks and at a few stops people asked "How did your get your mustang in the back?"

I did merge into a National Guard convoy in Kansas City on the way back. It was several HET and 916's. I'm sure some commander got a call as to why they had a POV in the back of a LMTV. Of course no one knew about it lol.

Thanks for the support!

So how did you get the Mustang in the back? I've been thinking about building some heavy duty fold up ramps for my M1078.

I found a tractor dealer that had a tall loading dock. Used several 2x8s and up she went. The bed to the ground is 60 to 61 inches. Unloading in Junction City was interesting. Took about an hour to find someone with a tall dock. Had to switch out mustang for the forklift.

Worked out well though.

Did that with a flatbed before. Used the wheel lift on the back of the flatbed to push down on wood blocks and got the back end high enough to drive across. Nice truck.

Nice rig. I had to grin when I saw your yellow mustang in the back! Now I know it can be done... I hope everything was mechanically in order for your trip home. Did you check over fluids, etc before leaving. I ended up spending 1 hour plus checking/topping fluids and buttoning up loose ends... Had to borrow a spare from tnmogger to put on the front as my truck had several badly dry rotted tires.
