I'm still here.
Still got my M37 and XM708.
After 60+ years, I'm thinking it may be time to refurb them and give them to my two grandkids.
And yeah, I know that left fron tire on the 708 is mounted backwads 😀

Well, if you can get the grand young'uns out there in the field with you - to help turn wrenches and sand and paint - that would make a really nice project for everybody involved.

"The XM708 is a rare beast, it would be splendid to see it done up".

I agree. Ten years ago, I think there were 14 of them left. I don't know how many now. My 37 has an LU-4 winch. I'm in the midst of overhauling an LU-4 for the 708.
The 37 has a big block Chevy engine; the 708 is stock.

He'd like that. Right now, we're teaching him to fly in another antique (79 year old Piper J3). Pilot fllies in the rear seat.20241103_163130.jpg

Here's an old photo of my 37.
It was my first vehicle - my foster brother gave it to me as a birthday present in 1962.
Paint needs a bit of touchup....
Time to refurbish.
And yes, I did put twin headlights on it 😁
I'd also like to mount a set of Irok Super Swampers.
I tend to like tall narrow tires. Anyone know what's the largest diameter I can install without rubbing during turns?

11.00R16 Michelin XZL tires are 38.7" diameter. They are a popular choice on M37 Trucks, though they are not cheap. I have them on my truck. They fit without rubbing on my stock suspension.

I got mine from Colony Tire in Norfolk, VA and had them shipped to me. You can find them at this ad on eBay:
11.00R16 Michelin XZL
Or try contacting Nate Potts at Colony tire: npotts@colonytire.com. - you may get a better price by avoiding them having to pay eBay fees.

There are also some used 11.00R16 Michelin XZL tires on eBay for significantly less than new. They claim 80% tread remaining.

NOTE: I've heard reports that some people have had issues getting some Super Swamper tires to balance properly. (I do have some in a smaller size on an antique Coot ATV that seem fine, but it only goes 20 MPH max, so balance is not really a concern.)
