Flasher Unit Bad ?

Ok I replaced the flasher unit and now the flasher light on the turn signal indicator has now gone dead I unplug the flasher unit the new one and it goes back to on but does not flash . Could the switch go bad as well and how do I test that to see if its working taking out of the truck ? THX tried with digital pulse test light and normal one still Solid I followed the hook up perfectly

i wonder why the gov't likely spent stupid $ on those electronic flashers, when a simple SAE 24VDC mechanical cylindrical-type flasher housed in a weatherproof metallic or non-metallic box w/ removable cover and gasket-based cannon plug in a knockout (or cast/moulded theaded hub) would've done the job just fine and likely be way better than what's on the trucks

I have done this mod on a few vehicles. This is the first time I have seen it here. I found that the two pin flasher might behave weird if you have LED lights. On my M934, the left side worked fine, the right side did this double flash thing. If you have LED lights, connect a 6 ohm/50 watt resistor (Amazon) between “L” on the flasher and ground. This will increase the current load and the flasher will work fine. This mod will work for years.

I went through 3 or 4 of the correct flashers and eventually bought an inexpensive 522 style mechanical +24VDC truck flasher and put it in a SPAM can with a Cannon jack connector on it. It's reliable.

SPAM! terrible culinary experience, but if the can is useable, maybe a redeeming characteristic......how'd ya seal it?

Did you buy the Cannon jack or remove one from a defective flasher?

Interesting. I’m having a similar issue. At first when I activated the turn signals the light on the switch started blinking really fast. Now the light just stays solid on when you go to activate the signals but none of the signals front or rear come on.
