Yep! I've got two. One for the M105 and one for the M1061. They came nefore my deuce plate.
God bless,
Tony
Are these the same plates as the vehicle plates or are they different? Anyone have a photo of the trailer plate? I tried to get one but someone in Springfield changed the application from Original Military Vehicle to TC plates, which is then what they sent me (the TC plate is the correct plate for the M105 's Gross Vehicle Weight). I gave up and kept the TC plates because they are much less expensive anyway ($58.00/year for TC plates vs $75.00/year for the OMV Trailer Plate).

I'll get a couple of photos for ya wb9btz. Tad chilly out there tonight and I have prior commitments. Should be able to post up a couple tomorrow for ya. I don't remember them being a "lot" different than the vehicle plates, so would be good for me to check it out. lol

God bless,
Tony

Very Interesting! My Unimog is OM 1026, so I wonder how far up the numbers list the Illinois S.of S. Office has gone on the OM plates. Interesting that they charge as much as they do for an OMT plate for the M105A trailers....Makes you kind of glad you're not getting plates for a 155MM artillery piece, doesn't it!

Merry Christmas!:carnac:

I just purchased a M923A2 from Michigan next week it will be delivered to Chicago,Illinois. I'm wondering if this process has got any easier in the few years since it's been around? I live in Chicago proper. I have Mr Dan McGath information if I run into trouble. Thoughts anyone ?

When I tried to do mine in July when I bought the truck, my local DMV had no idea that plates existed for former MVs.. They kept trying to give me commercial plates for $550ish per year. So I contacted the guy I bought my truck from (a member here) and he provided me with Dan McGaths info. Dan was extremely helpful, and after giving him my info and the trucks info over the phone, he set things in motion. He said it would be about a month before the plates would arrive, and he was correct.. It was something like 3 or 4 weeks. Always nice to deal with someone who knows what they're doing :)

Hi Guys
Today I went to the Secretary of State Office here on the south-side of Chicago,Il. "99th & Dr Martin King Drive". Must be a "Vehicle Services Div" or "VSD" location to help you.
The clerk in "Special Services" area processed the form VSD 190.25 which is the "Application for Vehicle Transactions" form (white & blue).
In the Area 3 is was labeled as "OM - Original Military"
Since I have a M923A2 Vehicle Make selected was "AmGen" Model M923A2
Filled out all my info, insurance data, vehicle info, odometer.
Secretary od State's Office requested to keep these pictures which I provided bought with me "labeling with my DL#" for processing down state.
1) Picture of vehicle. 2) Picture of GVWR data and VIN number. 3) Picture of Odometer reading "current"

Paid by money order $195, $95 for titling and $100.00 for the plates, it will take 30 to 45 days to get my title/plates which will be sent by mail.
NOTE Payment must be a CHECK or MONEY ORDER! no CASH taken by Special Services.
I was issued a temp plate for now which expires on 4/18/16.
It took about 2 hours time to complete the whole process it was very simple and a nice lady names "Mary Ann" took care of me there.
I have a spare VSD 190.25 I can scan or take a picture of if anyone wants it to pre fill out.
Hope that helps
Don in Chicago

Getting ready to register my new to me M1078 in Illinois. Anyone know if Mr McGath is still at the IL Sec. of State? Any other helpful tips on dealing with IL would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
