Fogged up plastic in soft-doors

One of the two "regular" soft doors I have, the window is so fogged up (scratches I assume), that it's difficult to see out of. I've tried cleaning it, but it didn't help.

I was wondering if anyone knows what type of plastic (thickness and other behaviors) used in the soft-doors. I have a friend with an industrial sowing machine (usually used for canvas and boat repairs) that would be willing to help replace the window, if I could tell her what type/thickness of material the clear part is made out of.

I had great luck with Meguiars plastic cleaner and lots of buffing. But most marine upholstery shops can get and replace the windows.

Ya, I tried that. Plastic feels "smooth", and it pulled some of the scratches out, but the haze never went away. Maybe the plastic itself is damaged in some way.

Ya, my friend can do upholstery, we just need to know what the appropriate vinyl type and thickness is. I found in one of her catalogs a reference to DOT approved 40 gauge window vinyl.

I believe the 40 mil is correct. Most "decent" Jeep top vinyl is 40 mil. Should work out the same. When mine go south finally, I plan on doing tinted vinyl.
