Looks like it has served in the military since it looks like it does have a data plate. Just not a tactical vehicle.

Back in the day it was common for EVERY vehicle the military owned would have a data plate. I've seen a Cadillac ambulance, a Gen 1 Ford Bronco, and an International Harvester Scout with data plates. Are they more collectable? Maybe. But they were just used as base vehicles, "grocery getters" of the fleet. They are commercial, but not CUCV.

I had a 62 ford van version of this. We put a hi-po 289 with an automatic. It was a blast to drive.

Nice but it is a GM Here is one fixed up.
Jeep has a FC forward control in the works but I doubt it will pass safety crash testing.
These days people need cars with 100 air bags, parking assist, back up cameras, power everything and eco friendly.
Give me the KISS method any day!
My crew cab has crank windows and people think it is old.

That was actually a Corvair variant, can't recall the name, Greenbriar or something. Notice the hump in the bed floor rear? That's hwere the engine lives. Neat truck, PITA to work on.
Is it for sale? Had one when I was a kid. Notorious for rust in the front lowers and bed, but that one looks good.

We were at a car show and this old white ambulance pulled up and parked at the end or our row of MV's.
And it HAD a data plate and the owner said he got it FROM a military base. I don't know if he actually said which one...
