Keith, it sure does look like the mud flaps are gone. That sucks. You can try to contact GL...but they will only let you back out of the sale if you choose to do so...no compensation...or at least no one one here has reported positive compensation.

Mike the mudflaps were mounted on the rear in pics that were on GL, thats one the "extras" I was looking for when I bid on those M818s. I just wish the EUC was faster in arriving so I could have picked it up sooner. Maybe I could have beat the thief to the truck.
It does make me wonder if any thing else that might have been there is now missing (tool box stuff).

Reub- thanks, I will be looking forward to reading about your recovery!

Keith...the "what else is missing now" thought crosses my mind every time I buy from GL and my truck sits on their lot. I feel badly for you. Someone else helped themselves to your mudflaps because they liked them and wished they were on their tractor. If it bothers you that much, contact GL. They will probably let you back out of the sale because parts were removed before you got the truck.

By the way, the mud flap kits are around...but they are pricey. I believe they are in the several hundred dollar range.

Hey Bruce- The thing that pisses me off is that I plan on towing my freshly painted M1009 behind the M818, now all the rocks and road crud are going to beet the crap out it.

Oh and I just realized that I started this thread in the WWI and WWII 5ton and up.-Sorry

Keith, if it helps, you can find the mud flap kits on eBay...but they are expensive. If you cannot locate it, call me. I understand your frustration.

Keith, I saw the latest pictures of your M818 and still cannot tell if you have a heater. Two of ours had the ducting and controls in the cab but no heater in the engine compartment; (I did not notice the missing heaters until later myself). On your missing mudflaps... if the brackets are still there you might be able to borrow a set from a civilian truck for the trip home. If you want I could verify the fit on our trucks since we have two commercial tractors here.

Greg thanks for the offer, but from the pics it looks like the brackets were taken also. I am probably going to have to try and find some to buy. I am rather upset about the missing mudflaps. The whole reason I started this post was to save money at a time when I don't have any.

Keith I probably did not explain the brackets very well, on the ones we have there are mounts bolted to a flat metal extension from the frame. The rubber mud flaps are bolted to a piece of metal square stock that inserts into those mounts, which makes them easily removed or installed (unfortunately in your case) so you still may have mounts on the truck. I wish I was better at picture taking and computer posting.

as long as the brackets are still there those square stock mudflap holders are available in black from any truck parts place, some OD green paint and a clip to hold them in there bracket and you will be close to original.

Was nice of Todd to do what he did for you, thats a beautifull tractor, sure wish you guys would all check off your EUC's for resale so I could buy one from you all down there.

Greetings from BC, Canada .......... still Deuceless but getting closer to getting one every day :-D

haha well that all just depends... lately, way too much, however just depends on how bad you want a truck I guess:-/ unfortunately the truck numbers are getting lower and lower and so the prices tend to reflect this, supply/demand... What are you looking for, I've got a few for sale. pm if interested.
