Frame attachment vs. knuckle

As I am planning my build, I was considering directly mounting to the frame vs. the standard knuckle mount theory. As I don’t own a MTVR yet and am geographically prohibited from taking a peak at one, I’m wondering if y’all have faced this dilemma?

From the pictures that I have seen it seems as though the frame extends to the bed. That seems like it would eliminates any individual articulation requirement and provide a sealed pass through opportunity provided that you re-route the exhaust and snorkel/intake system.

Not sure if I understand all of your post, but the bed itself appears to be pretty rigid, and attaches to the frame rails with flexible mounts consisting of springs and rubber around the mounting bolts.

And there is about a two-foot gap between the bed and the cab, with a frame-mounted platform in between.
