Fried CUCV card pic and question...

looks like a transistor to me and the thing above it looks like a diode, if the diode went it could have fried the transisitor...but it looks like something in the control went to ground, then went open after the smoke was let out. good luck

We can easily tell when a card goes bad by looking at the burnt component, but do they always show like that or is it sometimes the card looks good, nothing burnt but still be non-functioning?
