Front axle brake shoes wear out faster than rear axle brake shoes?

I agree about the importance of properly adjusted brakes. However, you are otherwise confused. The front brakes have the same force between the drum and shoe and travel the same distance. Same wear.
That Is my thinking but I don't have anything to back it up. If the fronts saw more line pressure (or more physical force against the shoe if it had a bigger diameter wheel cylinder) then I could understand more shoe wear.... but if everything is the same, i don't see that they should wear out faster.

74M35A2,

Why dont you supply me with more used motor oil so I can get this experiment going?! :-D

I guess if you are worried about the front shoes wearing out faster, you could rotate them like tires. LOL.
