Front Battery In a CUCV

I have had 2 CUCV that I drove on a regular basis that the front battery would die before the rear would. The batteries were bought new at the same time and installed together. The first time it happened to was a M1009 Blazer and I had starting issues with it and I just thought that was the reason for the problems. Now I have a M1028 and no starting problems, but the same thing has happened. The front battery has died and the rear is fine. I have thought about rotating the batteries once a year or something but this won't fix the problem. Maybe it's because all the 12 volt stuff runs off this battery? Anybody got any thoughts or ideas or solutions for this?

I would check the out put of both the alternators first, they should read 14.2-5 vdc. Just a loose belt would make a battery not charge properly.

I will check the voltage but I think it is putting out like it should. The battery will last 2 to 3 years so it's not like its not charging at all.

I had a friend build me a 12v desulfater, this rejuvenates the sulfated plates and bring the battery's back to new condition. You can buy them on e-pay for $40-60.00 and is good insurance. I have it on my electric golf cart as well as my home power battery back up. I swear by them. I also have a 24v one on my truck. The unit will not discharge the battery's as long as you start it once a week. You leave it permanently hooked up.
