Front brakes m1084

Hi
I have a m1084. When I press on the brakes and release the pedal , the truck tries to move forward , but the brakes seem to take a little time releasing and makes a noise like air releasing and takes a few seconds before being able to move forward. I already cleaned the spring in the brakes and greased it . Now I don’t know where to look now

I am not really familiar with these trucks it’s my first , what is the blue gland hand cover
The glad hands on the front of the truck used for towing - Service brakes are blue, Emergency brake control is red. The dust covers have vents and those MUST be clear or the brakes will lock up and refuse to release or be lazy in their release.

A clogged front blue glad-hand/vented cover would effect both front and rear brake release. the root problem of this is the 2way check valves located under the drivers floor(lift cab for access).

If it is just the fronts that are lagging on release, there is a quick release(QR) valve in behind the front skid-plate that controls the release of front brake chamber air. if it is sticking it may not be opening as fast as it should to dump chamber air promptly when you lower the control pressure/release the pedal.

Sorry no pics, looks a little like a fat T fitting Or 2way check valve. Input is in the middle output to left and right actuators are out the sides opposite each other. It has a large vent port opposite the input port. Mine is mounted with the input coming in from the top.

mine is at the front end of the drivers frame rail up behind the skid plate with 1/2” brake hoses running to it…
