Front Exhaust on HMMWVs?

I was told that some early HMMWVs were produced with front exhausts that exited by the intake? is that true? Does anyone have any pics or links to this? I ran a quick search on google and came up with nothing.

Yup that seems to be the general consensus. guy must be confused.

the artic heater has en exhaust that comes out by the RF wheel on the new trucks. the older system exhausted by the LF wheel
