Ft Meade GL M1008 I won--update-- its home

Why is it that most if not all of the M1008/M1009 series seems to have rust always located on the hood.
Is it because the hood is thinner metal or is it due to engine heat.
Its a nice looking M1008 in the picture above.
My hood seems to have the rust problem also.

its the condensation from when the truck is cooling down.
