Fuel Filter ?

Made a rookie mistake by believing the auto parts guy that the fuel filter they had would fit my 998 w/ the 6.2. Long story short, didn't work. Have everything apart so I ordered one thru Kascar. I want to drive it this weekend so I cleaned filter etc with brake cleaner and reinstalled however, the O ring looks about a quarter inch too big for the housing. I didn't have any leaks prior to disassembly but looking at pics and videos all the other O rings appear to fit just right. Is mine stretched? Should I wait for the filter to come in with the new O ring? Anything else?

if brake cleaner hit the o ring, it probably swelled?

anything is possible but I cleaned the parts away from the truck and O Ring. not too much of a chance to come in contact.
