Fuel heater question

At what point does a fuel heater become neccessary? How would one know when the fuel has gelled?

My truck has always been reliable. I recently replaced the IP and 8 injectors when I installed the GM5 turbo assy. Of course the truck drives much differently. I'm just trying to get an idea of what to look out for with fuel gelling. This will be the first time MO has been in the negative temps since I've owned it.

Do you use fuel additive everytime you fill up? If yes, then you probably will be ok.

ULSD waxes more than it gels. Google it. You need to change the filter when this happens(it's nonreversable).

Cutting it with kerosene does very little, compared to the old diesel we once used.

You know you have a problem when the fuel no longer flows as a liquid.
