What kind of fuel mileage are you seeing in the M35A2?

around 9-10 would be pretty accurate for mine around town. does maybe a little better on the hwy running 45-48 mph. maybe around 10.5. ive got a f550 that is considerably smaller, and much newer getting the same.

Lots of variables there - and I don't feel comfortable answering until I've gone through a bit more fuel in my M35A2 - but for reference, the manual states 5-6 MPG. I suspect that's on unimproved roads - but if I recall correctly, the TM doesn't state road surface type or typical speeds / conditions.

As low as 5 and as much as 10 MPG depending on if the canvas is on or not. My truck has an extended top and is almost as tall as a M109. Most average around 7-8 MPG. If gas milage is an issue, than a M35 is not for you.

very true. i forgot to add the numbers i posted are based on an unloaded truck, driving around flat florida, without a cargo cover. will be making a trip up to an off road park in AL soon. much more hills, and i will have a lifted jeep yj in the bed. then we'll see.

I am getting 10 in town (35-45mph @1500/1800rpm) and 15-17 on the hwy (58-64mph=@2250/2400rpm) but if I get it up to (70-72 5mph)@2500/2650rpm
tho I have 395/85/20 on the Deuce and this is all Unloaded weigh and no cargo cover

I am getting around 12mpg with super singles and 11-00-20s no cargo cover and no stop lights

I get around 5 mpg on the freeway, that is with 46" tires, running 60-65 MPH, have the injector pump turned up, and do have a cargo cover installed.

On my trip to Warner Robins, fueling in Macon GA and 186 miles later in Lexington SC, it took 14.9 gallons to fill it back up. No cargo cover, holding the RPM's to 2200-2300, and with a 3025 pound deuce engine in-the-can in the back. Your mileage may vary! A 200 mile recovery, if you start with a full tank, should be zero stops till you get home. The manual says 300 miles between refueling under average conditions.

I took mine to Nashville a couple of weeks ago. 1200 mile round trip, 8 mpg. A long ride....but I Loved it.

I doubt more than 10 overall, unless your running really tall tire/wheel combos. With stock 900's it just seems to wringing the motor out much past 50. The sweet spot on most stockers is it about 42-45-48 or so, then above that it seems that your unduely winding it up more than nessesary.. Mabe you can run a stocker at 55-58 all day, but I would prefer not to. The one best improvement is to get the lock out hubs for the front, I keep reading a 1 to 3 MPG increase.......

I am new to this, I am going to pick up my truck in Dallas GA in about two weeks.
I have never had a truck myself, but my dad and grandfather used a lot of them to haul pulpwood on the Ms. River, and load onto barges back in the 60’s.
As a kid, I drove got to drive them, (gas Reo’s, and 5 ton multifuels)
I remember them well, and always wanted to own one.
I hope to get to go on some of the rides I see on this site.

My deuce gets:

6mpg on crude oil, 8mpg on kerosene, and approx. 10mpg on diesel.

That's without cargo cover, and almost unladen. The truck has lockout hubs, and the fuel density compensator has been bypassed.

Funny thing...when Beaubeau and I picked up his first Deuce at Chambersburg, driving it home (pictured in my Avatar) with 2 trailers (one loaded, one towed) and him driving his '06 Duramax 3500 dually with one M105 behind, the Deuce barely used more fuel than the Chevy! I was astounded to say the least.

I just picked up my deuce at Ft Indiantown Gap in PA and drove it approximatley 700 miles home and averaged 7 mpg at 52 mph or less.
