Fuel pump help?

I had to drain the tank due to some crappy fuel & found some pieces of the old pump in the bottom.
I want to keep the old pump because it still runs, but I figure now's a good time to install one of the new ones I bought from Austin Aviation.

I can't figure out how to get the wiring unhooked from the old pump. It looks like the connector is staked in. Is it actually meant to be disconnected at the top where the fuse is?

Any help appreciated. I've gotta go to work & crack a safe but I hope to work on the truck again tomorrow.

Some times the power wires are in with a "twist lock" plug, some times they are in with solder. It can be a PITA to get them free but take your time and watch what you are doing and it should come out ok.

Here is a picture of the wiring "plug". It appears to be staked in on 2 sides. I think I would ruin the pump by prying the connector out.
And after reading further, I question whether the pump from Austin would be safe with a WMO/gasoline mix.
I'm just putting the old pump back in.
