Ok I know alot of others have run into this issue, you turn your fan on for heat and gen 1 on the dash lights up dimly and volt gauge drops a bit. Well I fixed mine, Bought a relay harness and a relay used the stock 12 volts from the original feed to the blower motor as my switched feed to activate the relay (Protected by stock fuse) and ran straight from the front battery for voltage to the fan (used a inline fuse holder with 15 amp fuse like stock) also ran a new ground from the blower motor itself to the front battery, this is the more common form of how the fan is wired in newer vehicles. Now I have no dim gen 1 light and the drop on the volt meter is about half of what it was before. It also seems to be blowing more air out the vents as well.
