Generator charging issue

I'm back on this again, I notice my generator is charging perfectly at slow speeds and acceleration, but soon when I give it a good bit of gas or get on the highway and do 60 or more, the generator starts acting weird and don't want to charge properly. I cleaned all the contacts and ground and still the same thing
make sure you have the correct serp belt….I’ve seen this issue and the wrong belt/pulley combination will have the belt slipping.

I've figured out, this pulley is for the newer turbo humvees only I think, the big piece sticking out is blocking it from even with the other pulleys
Must just be a wrong pulley, I don't think there is any difference in the pulley lineup between the NA and turbo on the majority of the trucks.

Actually I have one of those laying around here somewhere, When I bought my GEP turbo motor which obviously had very few miles on it I unfortunately decided not to pay the $500 extra for the starter and 200A alternator, so the guy sold me a serpentine pulley because I was going to convert my 200A V belt alt for $50 and it had the same issue you are having so no not simply a NA VS Turbo issue.

Perfect, I have one of these laying around that Im going to use, how is it running for you if you have the 200A generator? I was worried about it putting stress on tensioner and generator since its a non clutch one
I have not noticed any issues.

That is the incorrect pulley…TM’s and UOC will set you free.
There is only 2 pulleys for a late style ECV/REV, the small fixed or over running clutch pulley.

Interesting, so you are saying there is no large solid pulley that will fit the ECV?
I guess maybe if you live and die by the book.

Not being listed does not mean it will not work, I Have the pulley listed above on my ECV engine and it works perfectly with the OEM ECV belt.
I have no idea where that pulley comes from as I cannot find that number in any of the parts TMs I have and a quick search of the NSN 3020-01-473-2048 on the web and it did not turn up a clear end use.

I am not sure why the ECM was fitted with an overrunning clutch I assume it is because of wear and tear on the belt,, but there is a pot load of A2s running around with solid pulleys and 200A alternators and they seem not to have excessive belt problems (the listed A2 pulley in the TM evidently will not work)

EDIT, I did search using the NSN number and it is listed as a pulley for the 100A, but it works on my ECV turbo engine with the 200A alt, and hey $39 shipped!!

The solid pulleys are for the 196xxx sn and below serp setup, you would only find them on A2 trucks…again, the TM and UOC will set you free.
Also, as Far as books go….live and die by the book? Yea…I was Flight engineer, I didn’t make it a habit of deciding what was right and wrong on parts applications and torque value’s because it was in fact “die by the book”, as an instructor told me many years ago in UH1H transition course, the book was written in “blood”, there is a longer story to it than that, but sums it up in a nut shell.
you do you…I will Continue to adhere to best practices and the documentation, documentation that is flawed at times, that’s where practical experience and many years of experience on the platform comes in, this was the same approach i took as an SME on VOip implementation for my company I worked for for 27yrs…
