We have two 3.5 ton A/C's I would really only need to start one.
I can't promise, but I have seen where several folks have started 3.5 ton HVACs with their 802a. I went with the 803a and while it was running my hot water heater it started my 5 ton HVAC.....and of course if it won't start it you can always have someone to install a hard start kit. Very inexpensive to install and will work like a charm. I am about to purchase a couple 802s to fool around with and will know more about them when I start working with them.
