The Georgina Military Museum cordially invites you, your family and friends to our Military Vehicle Day on May 29, 2010 at the museum on Woodbine Avenue just north of Keswick. Military Vehicle Day is an annual display of restored military vehicles and is held in honour of local serviceman Rob Wilson, RCR, who fell in Afghanistan in December 2008.
The event runs from 10AM to 4PM, rain or shine, and admission to both the event and museum is free. Food will be available from the Mason’s BBQ burger bar and Boston Pizza will be on site with free pizza. There will be face painting for the kids and a variety of military vehicles for them to view.
The museum is especially honoured this year to have the York Rangers Regiment in attendance with one of their G-wagons and several active servicemen. There will be displays of military rifle drill throughout the day from the York Ranger Cadet Corps and a group of military re-enactors will bring back the days of muskets and black powder.
This is a great opportunity to turn out and thank the men and women in uniform for their service to the country. Whether you support the Afghanistan mission or not those who put their lives on the line deserve a “Thank You”.
If anyone wishes to bring their vehicle to the event it would be greatly appreciated.
