Glow Plug Module Manufacture

Hello,
Regardless of how strange this may sound, I am planning to build a module from scratch. The reason for this is that it seems you can't get a replacement module unless you get one from army surplus and who knows what it has gone through or how old it is. Well, my electronic part's look-up has been going poorly, i have managed to id the ic, resistor's, and the Q2 transistor, however, I've been having trouble recognizing the diodes and transistors. I hadn't thought of using steel soldiers until I saw another module that looked completely different from mine. It then crossed my mind that the diodes and transistors on other boards might be easier to recognize. So does anyone have a parts list?

Thanks for any and all help,
Blindowner

For those of us considering another card, what are the differences between the two, besides price? Both look to be well executed parts.

The cards that I have will do the exact same functions as the factory cards along with a few extra features.

I added a user selectable Steady or Flashing WAIT light feature.
Along with 3 LED's that aid in troubleshooting.

Red LED-indicates that the GP relay should be closed.
Amber/Yellow LED-indicates the WAIT light should be on.
Green LED-indicates that the board has power.

There is a metal stud on the card that allows an easy way to add the manual push button by-pass modification without "hacking" the vehicle wiring.

When designing the card, I wanted a card that gives the user some sort of visual indication that it was functioning. Thus the LED's were added. And just to be different, the flash/steady Wait light option was added.

From the pictures that I have seen, it looks like 1stSarge has a quality product as well.

Thanks Karl, I appreciate your input. I am going to be doing a few things to my !009 before winter hits and the card update is one of them. Thanks .

Would the card being bad make it to where the wait to start light and plug relay won't work?Even if I ground the light blue wire on the relay it doesn't "clunk". I've tried 3 different relays. All the same.

This thread is a good one. We have several members making improvements that are much better that the as-designed cards. Thanks for the time and effort and try to ignore any negative comments for the manufacturing experts on the site who do nothing but tell you how they would do it if they ever did it. I will order me a card for my 1028.

I just got one from antennaclimber last week. Haven't installed it yet but it looks to be VERY well made and has additional features that aren't on the original card (LEDs, etc).

Actually, he is not the only choice.

Just the only sensible choice.

Some of the big businesses have them for around $200.

I have one of antennaclimber's cards and I have to say
that you can't go wrong. Supporting one of our members
who employs veterans? I hope that's a no brainer
Thanks for the nice comments. And Thank You to all that have purchased cards.

The cards are made by a USN Viet Nam veteran and myself. I served in the USAF, NY and PA Air National Guard way back in the 80's.

I also employ a prior service Marine and an Army Iraq Combat Vet. Recently the Army Vet signed up for the PA Air Guard and is now in Texas for training. He and his family have the security of knowing that he will have his job back upon his return in a few months. Fortunately the military technical training he is attending will benefit him at his civilian job as well. That's bonus for both of us!

I hope that all employers actively support their Guard and Reserve employees.
