Glow Plug Torque?

Got to ask since I searched "Glow Plug Torque" and Glowplug Torque" and only got limited results. What is the correct torque for them? Thank you in advance for any assistance.

Google searched and found this from Beru,

with post-heating, you should only use glow plugs with the marking "GN"!


What you should take note of during fitting:

1. Dirt around the thread must not fall into the combustion chamber under any circumstances.
2. The glow plugs and the connecting nuts must be tightened to the correct torque. In case of excessive tightening torque, the glow plug may be damaged. This can result in irreparable damage to the plug (destruction of connecting pin or overheating due to reduction of the annular gap).

It is imperative that you observe the manufacturer's stipulations.



Attention — observe maximum tightening torque:

• Gewinde M 8: 10 Nm
• Gewinde M 9: 12 Nm
• Gewinde M 10: 15 Nm
• Gewinde M 12: 22 Nm

Fitting the glow plug if a torque wrench is not available
Screw in glow plug until it contacts the engine block. Tighten approx. 30° using a suitable tool.
Our tip: To be able to undertake the work properly and correctly, we recommend the purchase of a torque wrench.

Note, overtorqueing will result in a crash course on the use of easy outs.......

Thanks for the fast replies I found it in the TM's after a bit of a rushed search its 10ft lbs.

Or in other words, which I would have stated if I had read these statements earlier finger tight, as we would call that in Germany for 10 flbs / 7 Nm.
