i have manual glowplug set up,recently removed autolite 1112 which are a quick start glowplug in favor of ac/delco 60g glowplugs because i was worried about swelling, but now truck doesnt start nearly as well..i used to cycle 10-15 seconds twice and she would fire right up,now with 60gs its 20 secs. and 20 secs. and still does not fire.motor spins great but does not start, redtop optimas seem to be doing well, should i switch back? 1112s were 18 bucks each and 60gs 9 bucks each..Its about to get real cold here..

20 seconds is plenty for the AC60's. That gives their maximum temperature of 1850 degrees. A second glow is not required, unless you are after glowing after the motor has started. Even then, you should only require 1 or 2 10 second glows depending on temperature with time in between periods. Should fire immedietley, if not, you have other issues. Does your starter spin over fast enough? From another thread ; Requirements to start a 6.2.In order of probability:
1) Glow plug system operating correctly
2) Fuel supply in sufficient quantity/pressure and free of air
3) Adequate cranking speed
4) Proper compression

I haven't driven mine recently in weather that is in single digits but I will tell you that my glow controller is not on for that long. Wait light goes out in less than 10 seconds, crank it over, fires on first try, GP's stay on for 3-5 seconds verified with voltmeter and solenoid thud.
