I saw a member on here used GM#12557345 harmonic balancer as a replacement. I orded that from GM parts direct but here to find out its for a 6.5. I found this GM#14022671 harmonic balancer is for a 6.2. Im guessing the one i ordered thats for the 6.5 will not work on my 6.2? if soo im taking 123.00 in the rear with no lube. Thanks to all that respond

Intersting question. I just did a search for both numbers you posted.

No results for the 12557345 number.

One thread with the 14022671 number.

The TM calls for the 14022671.

LMC parts catalog page. The 92/93 6.5 is the same as the 6.2 but the later years 6.5 is not.

You can also check car-part.com and use the internet junkyard locater for one near you for cheaper I am sure.

Yeah from GM catalog a 1990 balancer is $148 up to 1994 the 94 and newer balancer is $78 or so.

The number 12557345 comes back at a crankshaft pulley not a dampner

14022671 comes back as a fluid dampner @ 142

You can use that damper....You just have to use a spacer between the damper and the crankshaft timing chain gear.

The later model dampers have a shorter snout as they were designed to be used on engines that have a crank trigger that sits in front of the crankshaft timing gear.

You can actually get a spacer offered by Fluidampr that they include with their damper for 6.2/6.5 application. You use the same damper for each application only on the 6.2 you use the included spacer since the damper snout is short and they have no crank trigger.

The Fluidampr spacer part number is 717639.
