I have noticed one thing with the D'max filter conversion; it does not start as quickly as the original unit. Especially warm restarts. My 04 GMC D'max truck never started as quickly as my 6.2 diesels with the factory fuel filter. Idk, but they start and that's all that counts..

Does this new filter assembly allow you to prime it with a buttom or something?

The larger FM filter heads have a lot of accessories. Electric lift pump, mechanical primer pump, heater, and I think a pre-screen too.

I'm unable to reference GM part # 1255214 to anything......we sure that's the correct part #?

anyone know where to get one of these now a days? I can not find this anywhere. it and the gf647 part number seem discontinued. I cannot find a replacement number for it either.
