Going to look at a m1031. Does not start.

Going with a friend to look at this. Has a lift. 37" ssrs. crossover steering. No rust. Sounds like a nice truck. However, No way to run it. Injection pump is shot. I told him to find another truck. Cant run it what good is it. He still want to go. anyway to check this thing out? make sure the motor good. he wants 2500 for it. any advice? thanks

BUY IT!!!

The running gear alone is worth that. That doesn't even include the generator, PTO drive, rust free sheet metal, etc.

The thing has a ton of aluminum bolted to the frame. A decent IP will set you back $500, figure anothe grand for incidentals, you would still be money ahead if the engine was junk.

No brainer

Junk really doesn't describe what you ran into. Even a complete derelict at that price point has some value if the driveline is still present.
