Ha, don't worry, I was about to ask how to pull the dipstick, I spent 15 minutes tugging at it, twisting it, and nothing would happen. sat and looked at it, then realized...Lefty loosey...
Steel Soldiers now has a few new forums, read more about it at: New Munitions Forums!
That's the good news:Ha, don't worry, I was about to ask how to pull the dipstick, I spent 15 minutes tugging at it, twisting it, and nothing would happen. sat and looked at it, then realized...Lefty loosey...
Nice item.Snagged a parking brake lever, it was very rusted in to the shoe, took the big press to get it out. Noise and violence.

Don't need to govern it down at all. The LDS should be governed at 28-2900 or maybe 3200 even under no load. Can't remember specifically, but it is up there in the scary zone.Sound Before valve adjustment, clicky the linky, hope y'all enjoy.

Before, oil pressure come-up after sitting overnight. Also miss and valvetrain noise.

Don't rev 'em this high, I didn't realize how high it would go. Going to have to figure out how to govern it down.

That's a real neat picture from when you were a kid. Thanks for posting that:Here is a pic of me with my dads '53 Reo after pulling down some trees on Whidbey where I grew up. My grandfather's shop that I and my mom now run, and where I am working on my deuce is the shop he rebuilt his in probably 40 years ago.
To come work at/run http://www.wymoreinc.com with my mom. Her dad (my grandpa) started it in '47. I've been here around 15 years now, worked my way up through the shop.So you grew up on Whidbey Island. Why did you leave Washington ?
David, there's a motion afoot to start a forum here for MV railroading. Hope we can get your support if you're needed at the barricades. My dad still lives up there, works for a small railroad. He's a train nut as well as MVs.
You ever get over to Whidbey? I need to come visit, it's been far too long. Fort Casey (and a bunch of other stuff) is really cool to see.
