Mermite inserts? Do you mean the exhaust stack cover thingies I keep finding in mermites???
While they do work as that I find I can shoot my red, plastic coffee can further than I could an aluminum Mermite insert. That's half the fun of starting the deuce.

My trucks don't shoot the mermite inserts anywhere, they just hang there and rattle, making me wonder just what the HE double hockeysticks is going on and scaring the poo out of me until I remember the can is up there...

One question I have for the guys using M103 or M105s - I couldn't get the landing gear up. It was in place when I looked at it the 1st time (lunette was on the ground) but I dropped it in to the lowered position to try and change the tires. Now it's hitting at the top of the landing gear so won't lock in to place. Any suggestions?
Is it just catching on the edge? Take a little of the metal off the edge of the leg with an angle grinder until it clears.

$750 seems a reasonable RANSOM to pay the villianous GL for saving that "GEM".[thumbzup]

Now.... WHEN IS CHOW GOING TO BE READY :?::jumpin:
Got some KP to do before I'll even boil water in that pot.

I know I'll make it to Muster at Camp Mabry and I'm going to try and drag it to the Temple Air Show. Beyond that it'll be burning burgers in the driveway for a while.

lol yours looks more complete than mine. I paid $770 for mine, and its located on the way to work!

SCSG (mike) definitely has what you need, I was over his house this week. He's got MKT stuff stacked up in his living room!

He said he had the Travel Cover. It's just a matter of finding it. I guess that's part of the problem of having so much stuff.

I'm going to try and inventory mine this weekend if it stops raining. If I'm going to have him dig one thing out I might as well add to the list while he's looking.

Adam, you buy the one from Eastover? I thought about bidding on that one for spare parts.
Speaking of spare parts, I have a few odds and ends that you guys might be able to use. While I am nowhere near Mike's league in the parts arena, I have a good many parts for the MBU's, cutlery rolls, etc. I have a couple of extra jack handles that I made. I can whip a few more up if anone else needs them. Oh yeah I just picked up a few of the baking rack sets for the field ovens as well.

Hey SCSG-G4, I am in need of the outside travel cover as well, any ideas. The inside has a few tears in it. Where could i find one of those or is it easier to repair it than to replace it? mkcoen, I was out at Ft. Sam the day before you Picked your MKT up, they had some canoes and kayaks I was looking at for our scouts. I peeked in your trailer. It was stuffed full. Not to steal your thunder, but we took our second MKT and are turning it into a wash station, using a 3 sink set up with a water storage tank. We are trying to figure out how to heat the water, but we have till the summer of 2012 to figure it out (thats when we will feed 250 + scouts for 8 days).

If you don't have the GI sinks that a burner will fit under, the best bet is to heat the water supply (or one of them) before it's put into the sink. One of the 109 conversion threads had an outdoor unit that runs off propane - would be ideal for your purpose!
