If you want to measure the resistance of the GP;

Set your multimeter to measure resistance.
Shorts your test leads together, meter should read close to 0 ohms.

Disconnect the wire going to the GP.

Attach one of the multimeter leads to the GP where the wire was connected to and the other multimeter lead to the body of the GP that threads in the head. Or connect it to a good ground point on the engine near the GP that you are testing.

In other words, one wire to the connector on the GP and the other wire to a good ground.

Should be between 1-3 ohms of resistance.

First remove the green power wire from the GP.
Touch one lead to the GP blade the other to a ground.
Should read full ohm's.
I like to use a test light. Much quicker/easer.
Conect the test light wire to a power suply.
probe the gp blade with the probe.
If lights GP good
