Just in case anyone is interested, a pair of group 51 batteries fit just right in a HMMWV battery box.
With all the conversions and LS swaps etc. I doubt I am the only one running dual voltage systems where the 12V is the dominant source of power.
I am running dual alternators so the systems are 100% separate, up until now all I powered with the 24V was the heater blower and the WW wipers.
But I am adding A/C so there will be dual evaps and condensers and I will be installing some 24V radios, up until now I have been running a 55A 24V alt and an old battery out of a MEP831 (24v single battery)
I have located a 130A 24V alt that will bolt right up to the second alt bracket on my Dmax.
SO, I wanted to get as much 24V battery capacity as practical so I found that 2 group 51 batteries fills the spot.
So off to Interstate I go and their refurb stack, almost all of the "refurb" batteries are just batteries that have gone past the shelf life.
They had almost a full pallet of $275 group 51 AGM batteries all with the same 5-2022 date codes at $62.50 ea. so I grabbed a couple.
I don't remember the member here that kept mentioning the Interstate refurbs but I am grateful, I buy around 2 batteries a month year round so I am saving a ton of money and have only had one battery that did not give as new service...

So two 51's are the same exact footprint as one 6TL? Good to know, I standardized on 51's long ago as they fit M38a1s. Even have one in my Ford Ranger.
