Hello,

I am looking at the possible purchase of an Hanco 20RFH33DWLP generator and trailer. I would use it as a generator at my property (a ranch). I would greatly appreciate any feedback to the following questions:

1. Are they "continuous run" generators?

2. Are they 3 phase only or like my MEP-003A can they be converted to single phase. As shown in the photos, my confusion is brought by the tag shows it to be a 3 phase only unit, but there are single phase outlets on the machine.

3. Any specific issues with this model I should look at? I believe it is a Perkins engine.

4. Are these reliable or is it recommended for the type use I am considering for home, shop, well, agricultural purposes?

having a single phase outlet on 3 phase is extremely common.

converting a 3 phase head to single only requires some rewiring, problem is not all heads are externally tapped for it

Looks like what I have.

They're continous run.

208v 3phase. Here's what you should expect to have for power output-

4 20amp 120v GFI single phase convenience outlets. These will take a normal plug.

1 60amp 208v 3phase J1 5pin port controlled by the contactor. This takes a special plug and cable to access. With the appropriate plug and cable, this will power a 60amp military PD box.

1 60amp 208v 3phase cable connected to a 60amp breaker. What I did with this one is I took the end that is supposed to go into the ECU and wired it into a military PD box.

PD boxes will take the 208v 3phase input and split it out to 120v single phase and well as providing 208v 3phase output

You can also take 2 of the 3 legs and create 208v single phase power. Most of your 220v to 250v equipment will be generally happy on 208v single phase. I power my welder and plasma cutter this way.

Here's what i did with one of my PD boxes - i removed one of the pass throughs for the 208v 3 phase and wired in some high amperage 120v single phase and 208v single phase female plugs.
