Harmonic balancer bolt torque

Does anyone know the proper harmonic balancer bolt torque for the Reo gas engines? The TMs only state "tight".

Most later manuals have tables of torque by bolt size...usually inside a cover...or near the back..you could probably find it in a Google search for "SAE torque bolt size" or similar....

Jason, is the damper bolted to a flange or directly to the flat end of the crank? If so, the generic torque table will work. If the damper is mounted over the nose of the crank and the nose is tapered, you'll need the correct torque.

No flange, no tapered nose here. Damper/pulley assy. comes off as one piece. It is mounted directly on the cylindrical end of the crank (1 3/4" diam.) and secured via a key. The crank is threaded for a 7/8-14 (NF) bolt.
This bolt doesn't show any std. markings, the head is over sized (1 7/16" socket), so assuming it is at least a grade 5 quality, I would go little over 500 ft/lb according to the charts.

just tap it down with a good air wrench. dont think I'd torque it to 500 on a G5. I have an entire topic on replacing the balancer if you care to search
