Headlight intermittently goes out

My left headlight intermittently goes out and vibration or pumping it or moving the connecting wires to the back of the light do not seem to have any effect.

Is there is a headlight controller or something I can check that is simple besides the switch on the dash?

Think you guys ought to get rid of those problematic LED headlights. I tell you what, I'll give you a pair of incandescents for a straight across trade:cool:.[thumbzup]

Probably a loose filament. Get a new bulb as that one is on its way out.
yes most of the time it works, but it does not react to any kind of bumping which a broken filament would do..... I was hoping for something along the lines of a controller or something like that but I'm not finding anything tracing the wires...

Check to make sure you have good grounds....loosing ground will have the same effect and bumping the light will do nothing. Especially if it is the ground to the head light panel.

why is that is mighty generous of you but I had the problem before the LED's I don't think they are a factor... I just recently noticed it when I only saw the reflection of 1 bulb instead of 2 because it does not do it when I am outside the truck looking for it of course heh

As with most intermitant electrical problems, check the grounds first. Especialy if the partin question grounds to a panel that in turn passes the ground thru another panel.

Thanks for the grounding inspection ideas I will try that next... I had thought that 1 of the wires in the back of the headlight was the ground

Maybe it helps: My passenger LED headlight will not come on with low beam from a cold start. It comes on fine and in full on high beam. If I drive in high beam for about 10 minutes or so and then switch to low it works from then on.

I am sure it is a headlight-internal issue, not a truck related problem.

Interesting, in your case it sounds like maybe a circuit/ electronics problem that once it is warmed up, the hea from expantion causes some micro break in a circuit to connect.?

Mine sounds more like grounding as it comes on/ off randomly hot or cold.. Ill keep digging into it.. Great suggestion!
