Was the rubber intake replaced with a hard plastic intake? Mine is ripped and looking for a replacement I have found some hard plastic intakes, but not sure if it is the same part.

You need the rubber one.
The hard plastic box thing is for late Hmmwvs with a different heater and ducting.

Just an fyi... Those rubber intakes do not seal all the way around the vent. It stays loose on part of it for recirculating air when thd vent is clised.

12339402.......Drive Pin (Steering Column & Heater Boot).........16 required......because you will trash the others on removal

I bought these last month.....some where around 45 dollars......they had to back order them

let me add here....these were new Govt. stock

Correct for my M998a1 2 door 'plain Jane'

Thanks for the info. Hoped that the hard plastic would work, but the price on the rubber isn't too bad.
