My 50 was from here! She was mostly original! Origanal 216cid that I pulled the head off and rebuilt! Had a bunch of carbon buildup on the valves so she had real low compression! I disassembled the head, media blasted the valves and relapped them, ImageUploadedByTapatalk1415318413.735127.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1415318439.344933.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1415318475.749281.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1415318495.035449.jpgran the head through our parts washer, reassembled it with the updated guide seals and put it back together! Fired right up! Had good compression and good oil pressure! Still 6volt, manual 3 on the tree with the torgue tube drive shaft! I put new kingpins, new brake shoes and wheel cylinders! She was my daily driver! I miss her, but my Duece keeps looking me in the face with those sad eyes just asking for me to give her some love too, I can't say no! I'm a softy! And she's deserves better than just being left out to rust!ImageUploadedByTapatalk1415318320.338211.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1415318343.182477.jpg

And this is the reason why I sold my Thriftmaster! 1 hr and 33 minutes from my front door in my buddy's Chevy! Not sure how long it's gonna take in the Duece! LOL! But I shall soon find out!ImageUploadedByTapatalk1415322783.930271.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1415322818.064929.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1415322870.553782.jpg.
I'm buying .75 acre in the mountains! Nothing on it except trees and rocks! It's BEUTIFUL! I need to move some dead trees and some rocks so I can clear out a driveway to get the Duece in there and park Her! Just wanted a place to park the Duece during hunting season so we don't have to come down the mountain every night! Here's the view from what will be my front yard!!ImageUploadedByTapatalk1415323214.716037.jpg
And this is the national forest boundary and the view a block from my spot!ImageUploadedByTapatalk1415323372.079228.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1415323390.901741.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1415323507.648641.jpg

Just waiting for my wife to get home from work so I can run down to the shop and grab the axle puller to get started! Then I gotta take the axle back to the shop and press off the bearing, put on the new seal, press the bearing back on, and then bring it back home and reinstall it! Then do it all over again with the other side! The shop is full, that's why I'm doin it at my place! LOL!

Regarding how long it will take in the deuce, I predict longer than in a car, maybe twice as long. On the other hand, the return trip may only take half as long, given the braking issues that sometimes crop up.

Hey Fm, do you attend the annual Run To Ruidoso Downs cars show? I have been in attendance every year for quite a while. I wanted to take my deuce to this last one but I didn't have enough drivers for my stuff.

I've been a couple of times! I haven't had a chance to go the past couple of years because of my injury! but I'm starting to get back on my feet again, so I could make the trip! I was born in Las Cruses, so I've been in New Mexico pretty much my whole life!
