Anybody had any experience with 8V92TA engines?

I know the NSN's are different, but wondering if a HEMTT 8V92TA would act as a replacement for a Mk48 LVS 8V92TA?

I have someone wanting to trade me one for some other stuff, and don't need it if it wont!

Thanks in advance!

I believe the big difference between the engines is the LVS has all gear driven accessories and the HEMTT has front belt driven accessories. There is no room for the belt drive on the front of the engine in the LVS.

It will not be a straight swap. Seeing that you have the MK48, you will have to swap the peripheral stuff off of the existing motor. While I have never done this swap, I believe it would work. However, why would you want it? Just as a spare? I bet you will NEVER have an occasion to use the spare...so then it becomes a waste of money that is sitting there unless you can sell it. A spare motor for a fairly rare truck is valuable only if you have a guy who needs one. My $.02.
