Hello all, I know there are a couple of threads on this already but I was hoping to find out something I didnt see answered. I have a M1045A2 and I would like to install AC, I am not particular or a fan of the red dots due to the big intrusive evaporator in the cabin and having to mount the condenser on the top. the wheel well condenser would be my best bet but before I go cutting into the fender is there a condenser that I can mount on the radiator like most cars and still have it work. also for those that have the standard front ac is one evaporator enough to keep it comfortable or should I look into getting a second blower/evaporator which would probably be the acme unit.

Big concern would be avoid Chineium parts if you can. I have an aftermarket system which is all Cinesium and so I get the privilege of replacing the crap constantly.

When you size a condenser, you have to be concerned about the size of the pipes (fittings) too.

I really am a novice, but I replaced the condenser I have that sits on top of the radiator on my M998. I used this one:

SF12-0731 - COND PF 18.75in/476mm x 29.5in/749mm x 20mm
And I had to hunt around for skinny electric fans to place on top. You will have to fab up mounting brackets.

And your also need the rest of the system, AC compressor and brackets,, evap, hoses, electrical,

Hope this helps.

My M1123 had the red dot system laying in it when I got it.
Like you, I hated the thought of having that ugly contraption on my truck.
I did a full retrofit with the fender mount system.
You can find just about everything you need NOS.
I went with the two man setup as it is really enough to cool the cabin even here in AZ. 20250416_120440.jpg

Thank you, I am happy to hear that the two man setup is enough, I had the concern that it would not be enough with a slant back. I would be interested in your process of installing the fender mount system. I know the TMs have a part list I can go off but any pointers, warnings, and cautions you could give me with your install would be great. Also really nice HMMWV.

Its not as hard as it seems. I had to search around for the measurements to the cutouts and mounting holes for the condenser unit but it was pretty straightforward after that

The two man condenser is mounted on the passenger side but these dimensions worked for me.
