Found it! Thank you. Guess I'll start the fuel system tonight while I wait on my new starter to ship.

you should drop the tank to install the access plate...I imstall this on all my trucks and any customer truck I build.
but this only allows the fuel sender or tank vent to be changed...not remove the plate itself to chane the seal.

This was a very helpful post.

I've got an idea how to make a much larger cover/hatch, my thinking is, it SHOULD be possible to remove the plate/gasket though this and NOT remove the tank.

What would be helpful is finding the original instructions for the kit for NSN 2510-01-454-7077 which, like nearly all other instruction sets, is a lot harder to find online than one would imagine.
