HMMWV Transmission Trouble

I wounder if they used a manual cable.. I have seen that in speed shops for 400's when used with a blower.......

try letting off the gas just before its about to shift if it shifts adjustment will help you if it doesnt change and you have to be up to the same speed no matter what the gov is probably sticking

Ill try to send some pics tommorrow. its at my shop right now. will adjusting the governor springs mean I have to go inside the tranny. because I don't that much about auto trannys. it might get messy...

you can take one of the gov springs out and out a little heavier one in place of the other one it will givew you earlier shifts and still not make it start of in second

the gov is under the 4 bolt cover on the pass side of the trans.you will loose a little fluid if you have to take it out

Ive tried feathering the throttle when driving, trying to let it shift. but it wont do it until about 28 and 47 or 48 mph. it does have a cable going up to the throttle. but isnt that the kick down?

kick down is the wire on the driver side whatever they have going to the pass side of the trans just below the cooler lines is your adjustment if its a cable you will want to give it more slack to make it shift earlier

I took it off. and drove it while working the cable back and forth slowly and then tried moving it fast, and neither worked.

pics would help me help you since how you need to adjust it depnds how the cable is ran you caouls have a bad kick down soloniod or sticking gov

I'll bet your modulator is bad. Easy swap out of the part.
