Hello,
i am looking to see if there is more than one part number for Ubolts that ties in the front driveshaft to the transfer case. Here is what I ordered from ilminterprise from Humble Texas.

This is the only part number that I could find from my TM. what I received looks like the photo.

however when I installed it, the threads were too short. I had to remove the washers.

the seller called me dishonest because it took awhile to get to the part of this project where I can install the drive shafts. Did the seller send me the wrong part or is there a different Ubolt part number I should search for?

The cost is not as bad as the delay it is causing me.

Your local parts house could have provided the instal kit for this........ just take the joint with you. First time i've ever seen lock washers on a joint before........I'm positive someone else has though.

My '67 Kaiser-jeep has lock washers on the U-Joint bolts. So that bit doesn't surprise me, but ya.. you just need to broke in the u-joint (or know it's number) and you should be able to get the right bolts pretty easily. (Since this is all AMG, good chance it's just a vintage Jeep or AMC part.)

Took it to Orileys, autozone, advanced auto, and nappa. No one was able to find something like this unless I could append this to a production car. my question is, should I buy the same part number again (I was sent a wrong part) or should I be looking for a different part number?

If the guy is purposely sending non compatible parts, then keep an eye out. A few has already been sold.

sad the state of counterman today.....
Ex NAPA store manager here in another lifetime.
What model truck do you have? See if what you need fits a m998 base model then you can ask a parts store for Hummer h1 parts.
Attached is a link to spicer with measurements. Scroll to find your measurements needed.

Hello,
i am looking to see if there is more than one part number for Ubolts that ties in the front driveshaft to the transfer case. Here is what I ordered from ilminterprise from Humble Texas.
Looking in the couple TM's I have I found the part number you listed for both the front and rear (some models) drive shaft. I checked a different TM and found a part that matched "12339050" but had a different NSN 5306-01-502-3440 and it looks like the guy on epay you bought them from also has that part number listed in the description.

There is another guy with one listed with the same part number you have and it looks to be the longer version you seem to be looking for but it seems he only has 1

HPG also has them listed and looks like the longer ones https://www.hummerpartsguy.com/U-BOLT-TRANSFER-CASE_p_7423.html

There seems to be a few places with them https://adv4x4.com/12339050.html when you search google for 12339050

The least expensive place I found https://real4wd.com/product-tag/nsn-5306-01-465-1564/

The TM should the lock washer with it.

Another option is to search google for "5-213x u-bolts". That Universal is a 5-213X so that will turn up some u-bolts that look just like the ones you received. It is likely the guy is selling a generic u-bolt. You can confirm the u-joint with some measurements if you don't have the number here https://www.danaaftermarket.com/spi...&cat3=ZERK&cp=0&catalog=PIMS_NA&partType=PART

According to Spicer that is a 1330 series u-joint and takes a 2-94-28X u-bolt but that looks to be short compared to the other pictures I found. Again, just a guess but I suspect you have the Spicer u-bolt or compatible part and it is too short for the military application.

Thanks for clerifying it. It makes sense that I received a generic part. I will go with the safe bet and keep my orders on mac motors hpg or amg.

Thank you all. This site is helpful and responsive. I wish Microsoft support was as responsive like this. Lol

Regarding lock washers I offer you two words: Tack Weld

Don't trust lock washers, even if brand new and nice and sharp, to hold that driveshaft. After dealing with being stuck on the side of the road in the heat of summer, huge red puddle under me from the corner of the transfer case being chewed off by a dislocated driveshaft, hours waiting for an expensive tow (I had a loaded M101 behind me), I will ALWAYS tack weld them now. Just break or cut them off when they need to come off and replace the bolts.

I know plenty of folks do just fine with lock washers, but having had the above experience, I will go belt and suspenders from here on out.

i was thinking of the lock grade 8 bolts. The ones with the indents on the back. The package that I purchased, I am calling it a wash and ot using any of it. The guy was dishonest in the listing and after reading other reviews in ilminterprise’s profile, I will not purchase from him again. I placed the order with mac motors. A bit expensive but at least I will have accurate parts. I’ve ordered from them and they have been helpful many time. Especially in getting parts that may be rare or unavailable.

those are the wrong strap…
that eBay seller is and always has been a jerk, has Sold stuff for years listed incorrectly and loves to blame the buyers.
I just can’t keep beating this dead horse…if You don’t know what you need, don’t want to read the TM’s, than buy from a true distributor you can actually call on the phone so they can provide the correct part based on the questions they will ask you…

Here is the difference. One from AM general through MacMotors and one from the ebay scammer ilminterprise.

I’m not irritated about the money, it is more the time take to install and remove these, the wait time, and the confusion he gave me and aparently other sellers of this part (according to ebay support).
